Wizz Air Announces the Deployment of a Third Aircraft and Expansion of Operations at Chișinău International Airport

At an event held today at Chișinău International Airport, Wizz Air announced the allocation of a third Airbus A320 aircraft to its Chișinău base, starting on October 26, 2025. This strategic expansion will include the launch of six new routes, further strengthening Moldova’s connectivity with Europe and beyond.

Starting October 26, 2025, Wizz Air will enhance its direct flight schedule from Chișinău with the following destinations:
📍 Bari, Italy – every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday
📍 Athens, Greece – every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday
📍 Billund, Denmark – every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
📍 Maastricht, Netherlands – every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday
📍 Milan Bergamo, Italy – every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday
📍 Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden, Germany – every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday

The route to Maastricht marks a first in Wizz Air’s network, offering Moldovan passengers the opportunity to explore this unique destination.

The deployment of the third aircraft will also allow for increased flight frequencies on two existing routes: Chișinău – Paris Beauvais and Chișinău – Berlin. These adjustments will provide passengers with more options and flexibility in travel planning.

Andras Rado, Head of Communications at Wizz Air, stated: “I am proud that Wizz Air is expanding so rapidly in Moldova, adding a third aircraft and dozens of new destinations in just six months. We continue to invest in our growth in Moldova, strongly believing in the value of travel as a unique experience, and we will keep working to ensure that all travelers have more opportunities to explore the world.”

Sergiu Spoială, Director of Chișinău International Airport, added: “The expansion of Wizz Air’s operations in Chișinău highlights the attractiveness and growth potential of our airport. The new routes and increased frequencies will bring significant benefits to our passengers, facilitating faster and more efficient connections to various European destinations.”
