Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport and Turkish Airlines announce an increase in the frequency of direct flights to Istanbul starting May 5, 2025.

Turkish Airlines has been offering direct flights to Istanbul from Cluj International Airport since 2016, and currently, flights are operated daily. Due to the increased frequencies, the number of weekly flights will rise from 7 to 9, starting May 5, 2025, with the addition of two extra flights on Mondays and Saturdays. This adjustment will facilitate passenger connectivity to over 300 destinations within the Turkish Airlines global network.

The increase in flight frequencies is a response to the growing demand from passengers who choose Istanbul both as a final destination and as a hub for connecting to intercontinental destinations in Europe, Asia, Africa, and North America.

Flight schedule:
CLJ 09:55 – IST 11:45 (Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat)
CLJ 21:10 – IST 22:55 (Mon, Tue, Thu, Sat, Sun)

Mr. Hakkı Güntay, General Manager of Turkish Airlines, stated: “Turkish Airlines, the airline flying to the most countries in the world, will increase the frequency of flights between Istanbul and Cluj to 9 per week, adding a new flight on Monday evening and a new flight on Saturday morning, in addition to the daily flight, starting from May 5, 2025.”

Mr. David Ciceo, General Director of Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport, added: “Turkish Airlines is one of our strategic partners, and this increase in flight frequencies to Istanbul confirms Cluj’s attractiveness as a destination. Passengers will now have easier access to one of the largest air hubs in the world, with multiple connection opportunities to all continents.”
