Ryanair introduces four new routes from Budapest

Ryanair will connect the Hungarian capital with 68 destinations during the summer season, operating over 640 flights.

Ryanair will add four new routes to its Hungarian network in the summer schedule period starting at the end of March, with flights to Castellón, Liverpool, Toulouse, and Katowice. The airline had not previously announced the latter, but according to its booking system, two flights per week will operate to the Polish city starting in July.

Ryanair expects 5.6 million passengers on its Hungarian flights this year, representing a 13% increase compared to the previous year. According to Ryanair, the expected growth is due to the Hungarian government’s decision to abolish the extra profit tax on aviation companies. The airline appreciates this move, and Jason McGuinness has expressed gratitude for the government’s openness.

According to the airline’s data, the ten aircraft based in Budapest represent a $1 billion investment and support the creation and maintenance of 4,200 jobs.

Ryanair’s long-term plans include not only Budapest but also Debrecen and Hévíz-Balaton Airport at Sármellék. The airline aims to add these two locations to its network by 2030 at the latest. This expansion would involve 16 base aircraft and 180 new high-paying jobs, increasing the number of employees in Hungary to 480.
