Wizz Air flights between Sibiu Airport and the airports in Basel (Switzerland) and Frankfurt Hahn (Germany) will be temporarily suspended, according to Sibiu Independent cited by BoardingPass.ro.
Information from the low-cost carrier’s booking system shows that flights on these two routes will not be available between January 9 and March 30, 2026.
The reason for the temporary suspension remains unknown, though it is possible that the decision was made for commercial reasons.
These routes are part of a series of seven new services that Wizz Air announced for Sibiu this autumn, with flights to Basel and Frankfurt scheduled to begin on August 2, 2025.
A few weeks earlier, the Hungarian airline had already removed from its booking system the flights between Sibiu and Vienna.
The Sibiu–Vienna route, launched in early August 2025, was canceled after Wizz Air decided to withdraw from Vienna Airport.
