From Friday, the number of weekly flights between Budapest and Sharm el-Sheikh will increase from three to ten. This move aims to assist passengers affected by the suspension of direct flights to and from Israel. Meanwhile, the Hungarian government will operate evacuation flights from Amman to Budapest on Wednesday and Thursday.

Wizz Air announced that it is introducing additional relief flights for passengers who were planning to travel to or return from the Middle East. Starting Friday, the airline will operate ten weekly flights between Budapest and Sharm el-Sheikh instead of the usual three.

These extra services provide more travel options for passengers impacted by the suspension of direct flights to and from Israel and currently represent the best available connection between Israel and Europe, the airline said.

Following the escalation of the security situation in the Middle East and the introduction of regional airspace restrictions, Wizz Air adjusted its flight schedule as a precautionary measure. The airline has suspended all flights to and from Israel, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Saudi Arabia, and Amman at least until March 7.

The airline added that it is cooperating closely with aviation authorities and airport partners to ensure safe operating conditions and continues to monitor the situation with the aim of resuming services as soon as security conditions allow.

In addition, the Hungarian government announced that evacuation flights will be operated from Amman to Budapest on Wednesday and Thursday.
