Wizz Air has announced a significant expansion of its operations from Wrocław Airport (WRO) in Poland, unveiling plans to launch three brand-new routes and increase frequencies on several existing ones.
The new destinations—Reykjavik, Dortmund, and Varna—will join Wizz Air’s growing network from Wrocław. According to the airline’s statement released on October 8, 2025, the carrier will also boost flight frequencies to Barcelona, Bari, Tirana, and Malaga as part of its summer 2026 schedule.
New Routes Coming in 2026
Flights to Varna (Bulgaria) will launch on June 15, 2026, operating twice weekly, followed by the start of flights to Reykjavik (Iceland) on June 16, 2026, with three weekly services. The route to Dortmund (Germany) will commence later in the year, on October 25, 2026, with four flights per week.
These additions will be supported by the arrival of a third Airbus A321neo, which Wizz Air plans to base at Wrocław starting in June 2026. The aircraft will also serve previously announced new routes to Gran Canaria, Catania, and Ohrid.
Increased Frequencies on Popular Routes
In addition to the new destinations, Wizz Air will increase frequencies on several high-demand routes from Wrocław:
- Barcelona: from 4 to 7 flights per week
- Bari: from 2 to 4 flights per week
- Tirana: from 2 to 3 flights per week
- Malaga: from 3 to 4 flights per week
All enhanced frequencies will take effect in June 2026.
Strengthening Regional Growth
“This expansion is a testament to our commitment to providing simple, affordable, and enjoyable travel, while driving regional growth and creating more jobs—both within the airline and across related industries,” said József Váradi, CEO of Wizz Air, during a press conference in Wrocław. “We look forward to welcoming even more travelers on board.”
With the upcoming arrival of the third A321neo and the introduction of new routes, Wizz Air’s Wrocław network will grow to 22 routes across 17 countries. Since launching operations from the city in 2006, the airline has carried nearly 7 million passengers to and from Wrocław.
