According to BoardingPass.ro, an Irish budget airline will expand its presence in Romania next year by introducing a new international connection between Bucharest and the northern Polish city of Gdańsk. The new service will begin in early June 2026, further strengthening the carrier’s network operated out of Bucharest’s “Henri Coandă” International Airport (OTP).
The seasonal route will link the Romanian capital with Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport (GDN), serving one of Poland’s major Baltic-coast cities. Flights are scheduled to run three times per week—on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays—until the end of October 2026.
The airline will operate the flights using a mix of Boeing 737-800NG and Boeing 737 MAX 8-200 aircraft, with an estimated flight time of approximately 1 hour and 50 minutes.
A Growing Link Between Romania and Poland
This will be the carrier’s first route connecting its Romanian and Polish networks. The Irish airline already maintains regular—but seasonal—operations from Bucharest’s secondary airport in Brașov to Kraków.
Currently, the Bucharest–Gdańsk market is also served by Wizz Air, which offers nonstop flights between the two cities. The entry of a second low-cost operator is expected to increase competition and provide Romanian travellers with more options for reaching Poland’s Baltic region.
