Pegasus Airlines, the Turkish low-cost carrier, has announced plans to launch regular flights between Istanbul and Cluj-Napoca’s Avram Iancu International Airport, starting in the second half of May 2025. The inaugural flight is scheduled for May 16, 2025, marking the airline’s third regular route between Turkey and Romania.
Departures will be from Istanbul’s Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW), a significant hub for Pegasus Airlines, with flights operating three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The estimated flight duration between the two cities is approximately one hour and 45 minutes.
Currently, Pegasus Airlines is selling tickets for the Cluj-Napoca–Istanbul route only until the end of the summer 2025 season, and it remains uncertain whether the route will continue into the winter 2025/6 season. Additionally, Pegasus Airlines offers connecting flights to numerous destinations via its hub at Sabiha Gökçen Airport. Round-trip ticket prices start at €155.
Notably, Turkish Airlines also operates regular commercial flights between Cluj-Napoca and Istanbul. In Romania, Pegasus Airlines currently operates regular flights from Antalya and Istanbul to Bucharest’s Henri Coandă (Otopeni) Airport.
