Several new seasonal air routes linking Romania with popular holiday destinations in Greece have been announced, offering travelers more options for summer travel at competitive prices.

The newly introduced routes focus mainly on Greek islands, strengthening tourism links between Romania and Greece and making Mediterranean destinations more accessible from regional airports.

The announced routes and starting one-way fares include:

  • Otopeni – Zakynthos from €99
  • Otopeni – Chania (Crete) from €119
  • Brașov – Heraklion (Crete) from €104
  • Cluj-Napoca – Zakynthos from €104
  • Sibiu – Heraklion (Crete) from €79
  • Suceava – Heraklion (Crete) from €81

These routes provide direct connections from six Romanian cities to major Greek leisure destinations such as Zakynthos, Chania, and Heraklion, significantly reducing travel time compared to connecting flights.

Airlines and tour operators expect strong demand for the new services, as Greece remains one of the most popular summer destinations for Romanian travelers. The competitive fares are aimed both at tourists seeking affordable holidays and at families traveling during peak vacation months.

The inclusion of Brașov, Sibiu, and Suceava highlights the growing importance of regional airports in Romania’s aviation market, allowing passengers to depart closer to home and easing congestion at Bucharest Otopeni Airport.

The new routes are expected to operate seasonally during the summer period, supporting outbound tourism while also boosting passenger traffic for regional airports. Further route expansions may be announced depending on market demand and airline capacity.

With these additions, Romania’s air connectivity to Greece continues to expand, reinforcing the country’s position as a key outbound tourism market in Southeastern Europe.
