The airline Norwegian is expanding and will, for the very first time, operate direct flights to Oslo-Gardermoen from Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport.
Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport and the Cluj County Council announce the expansion of operations by the airline Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (Norwegian) in Cluj-Napoca, which will operate, for the very first time, direct flights to Oslo Gardermoen starting from the summer season of 2026.
Beginning 20 June 2026, Norwegian will connect the city of Cluj-Napoca with the capital of Norway, Oslo, through flights to the largest airport in the country, Oslo Gardermoen.
The flights will be operated with 2 weekly frequencies, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, according to the schedule in the table below, thus offering passengers from all over Transylvania an excellent opportunity to travel quickly and conveniently to Scandinavia.
Through this new direct connection, passengers choosing to fly from Cluj International Airport to the Oslo Gardermoen hub can benefit from multiple connections to Scandinavian and Baltic countries via Norwegian and Widerøe, within the network of Oslo Gardermoen International Airport (OSL) — the largest airport in Norway, with over 26 million passengers handled in 2024. The airport is located approximately 40 km north of Oslo and serves as the main hub for Norwegian.
Additionally, starting 28 June 2026, Norwegian will, for the first time, connect the city of Cluj-Napoca with the capital of Denmark, Copenhagen. Thus, beginning with the 2026 summer season, the new airline will operate flights to two of the most anticipated Scandinavian capitals: Oslo (Norway) and Copenhagen (Denmark) from Cluj International Airport.
