LOT Polish Airlines continues to strengthen its presence in Southern Europe with the launch of a new seasonal route to Heraklion, the capital of Crete. After Athens, Thessaloniki, and Preveza, Heraklion becomes the fourth Greek destination served by Poland’s national carrier. The new Warsaw–Heraklion (WAW–HER) service will operate three times weekly beginning 30 May 2026.
The flights will be operated by Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, offering passengers a comfortable and efficient journey to one of Greece’s most beloved island destinations. Flight LO619 will depart Warsaw Chopin Airport at 11:45 on Mondays and Saturdays, and at 10:20 on Fridays. The return flight, LO620, is scheduled to depart Heraklion at 16:40 on Mondays and Saturdays, and at 15:20 on Fridays. The total flight time is approximately 2 hours and 55 minutes.
Heraklion, known for its rich Minoan history, vibrant coastal atmosphere, and access to iconic sites such as the Palace of Knossos, remains a top choice for travelers seeking both relaxation and cultural exploration. LOT’s new connection is expected to further boost tourism flows between Poland and Greece during the 2026 summer season.
“The Greek islands have been unwaveringly popular among Polish holiday makers for several years now, so the launch of this new destination was a natural step for us in the process of expanding our route network in the Mediterranean. In the summer, our passengers are looking not only for sunshine, but also for locations that inspire them to discover the beauty of nature and the richness of history. With the new route, LOT Polish Airlines will provide a convenient and fast connection to one of Greece’s most interesting regions. I have no doubt that the service connecting Warsaw and Heraklion will be the right choice for passengers craving the sunny holidays of their dreams,”
said Robert Ludera, Registered Representative and Director of the Network Bureau at LOT.
