According to Rynek Lotniczy, Gdańsk will host Icelandair’s first scheduled flight from Poland. The Scandinavian airline will launch three to four flights per week between the Tricity area and Keflavík International Airport. Services will begin on 18 September 2026.

Thanks to this connection, operated with Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, Gdańsk becomes a new gateway to Iceland and to transatlantic travel. Iceland is home to a growing Polish community. The new route will make it easier for Poles to stay connected with loved ones back home, while Icelanders living in Poland will benefit from improved access to visit family in Reykjavík.

Passengers arriving at Iceland’s hub in Keflavík can enjoy convenient onward connections to major cities in North America, thanks to Iceland’s strategic location halfway between Europe and America.

For travelers from North America, the new route offers direct access to Gdańsk’s rich culture, historic Old Town, and artistic heritage, without the need to transfer through major European airports.

“This new connection is a major milestone for Icelandair as we enter the Polish market for the first time. It represents a positive step on several levels: it makes travel home easier for both Poles and Icelanders, while positioning Iceland as a hub for travelers seeking direct access to Iceland or onward connections to North America.
Our central location allows us to serve this market efficiently, and we are delighted to open our doors to Poland,” said Bogi Nils Bogason, CEO of Icelandair.

The new Gdańsk–Keflavík route expands Icelandair’s route network. The frequency of several flights per week provides convenient connections to key destinations in North America.

Icelandair passengers traveling between Europe and North America can enhance their journey with a stopover in Iceland of up to seven days, combining convenient connections from Poland with unforgettable experiences on the Land of Geysers.
