In the coming years, Athens International Airport will undergo a significant transformation, doubling its infrastructure, improving passenger processing times, and enhancing its ability to accommodate a much larger number of travelers.

This ambitious expansion is part of a €1.28-billion development program aimed at increasing the airport’s capacity to 50 million passengers per year upon full completion.

A key aspect of the initial projects includes the expansion of both the main terminal and the satellite terminal buildings. The total space will increase by 68%, adding an additional 148,000 square meters to the airport’s facilities.
