Austrian Airlines Unveils Its 2026 Summer Schedule

Vienna, Austria – Austrian Airlines is expanding its horizons for the 2026 summer season with an even broader network and increased capacity. The flag carrier of Austria will add seven new short- and medium-haul destinations, enhancing its already comprehensive European offering and giving travelers even more reasons to explore.

From March 29 to October 24, 2026, the airline’s summer schedule will feature 133 destinations in total113 short- and medium-haul and 20 long-haul routes (up from 127 in 2025).


🌍 New Destinations from Vienna

Austrian Airlines’ 2026 summer timetable introduces a mix of Mediterranean favorites and exciting new routes to northern and Atlantic regions:

  • 🇪🇸 Alicante (ALC)April 22 to September 23, 2026 | Wednesdays, Sundays
  • 🇪🇸 Bilbao (BIO)April 8 to September 23, 2026 | Wednesdays, Sundays
  • 🇫🇷 Bastia (BIA)June 2 to September 29, 2026 | Tuesdays, Saturdays
  • 🇲🇰 Ohrid (OHD)May 17 to October 11, 2026 | Wednesdays, Sundays
  • 🇬🇷 Mytilene (MJT)June 15 to September 21, 2026 | Mondays
  • 🇳🇴 Bergen (BGO)June 1 to September 18, 2026 | Mondays, Wednesdays, Sundays

🛫 Strengthened Network and Added Capacity

In addition to new destinations, Austrian Airlines will increase flight frequencies to several existing routes in response to growing demand and the announced market withdrawal of low-cost competitors Wizz Air and Ryanair.

Highlights include:

  • +5 weekly flights to Barcelona
  • +3 weekly flights to Málaga
  • +1 weekly flight each to Funchal (Madeira) and Tenerife

To maintain stability and capacity across the network, the airline has secured two additional aircraft from its long-term wet-lease partner airBaltic, ensuring smooth operations during the peak summer period.
