Animawings to launch three new routes starting October: two international routes and one domestic. These additions come in response to a steady increase in passenger numbers and growing demand for fast and affordable travel options.

New Destinations Starting This Fall:

  • Bucharest – Suceava: 6 flights per week, starting October 1, 2025, with fares from €39.99/segment
  • Bucharest – Prague: 3 flights per week, starting October 5, 2025, with fares from €49.99/segment
  • Bucharest – Sofia: 5 flights per week, starting October 1, 2025, with fares from €74.99/segment

Strengthening Domestic Connectivity

The Bucharest–Suceava route addresses the need for faster connections between southern and northern Romania. Suceava, a city with significant cultural and tourism appeal, has so far been underserved by air transport.

“We want to bring the capital closer to Romania’s major cities. Suceava has been a priority for us precisely because it’s currently poorly connected by air, and existing schedules do not meet real passenger needs. A strong national air network supports not just mobility, but also regional development and tourism growth—especially in areas like Bucovina,” said Marius Pandel, President of AnimaWings.

The airline also announced increased frequencies on its existing domestic routes from Bucharest to Cluj-Napoca, Iași, Oradea, and Timișoara.

International Expansion: Prague and Sofia

Internationally, AnimaWings is reinforcing its European network with flights to Prague, a major tourist destination, and Sofia, a growing economic hub in Southeast Europe with increasing ties to Romania.

“Prague and Sofia are both cities with strong economic and tourism potential. Feedback from passengers and the business community clearly showed the demand for direct, frequent, and affordable flights. We chose these routes to meet the needs of a dynamic market, and because our chosen aircraft type is ideal for short-haul routes requiring frequent service and optimal scheduling,” Pandel added.

Modern Fleet and Diverse Comfort Options

All three new routes will be operated using Airbus A220 aircraft, which were added to the fleet earlier this year. This autumn, AnimaWings is set to receive another aircraft as part of its ongoing contract for 12 Airbus A220-300 units, all scheduled to be delivered by the end of 2026.

Passengers will be able to choose from three comfort classes: Business Class, Premium Economy, and Economy, offering flexible options for different travel needs.
