Wizz Air, one of Europe’s leading low-cost airlines, has announced the addition of a ninth aircraft to its Gdańsk base as part of its upcoming winter expansion plan. This strategic move further strengthens the airline’s more than two-decade presence in Poland and reinforces its position as a major player in the region’s aviation market. The announcement also underscores Wizz Air’s continued commitment to expanding its network and offering even more affordable travel options to passengers across the country.

A Stronger Presence in Gdańsk

Since beginning operations in Poland in 2004, Wizz Air has made Gdańsk a key hub in its network. Over the years, the airline has steadily expanded its operations from Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport—introducing more routes, increasing flight frequencies, and adding capacity to meet the growing demand for air travel in the region. With the arrival of the ninth aircraft, Wizz Air is reaffirming its long-term commitment to the area, with Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport set to play an even more significant role in the airline’s ongoing growth strategy.

This investment also supports the broader Pomerania region by improving accessibility and stimulating the local economy. By introducing new routes and expanding its services, Wizz Air enhances connectivity between Gdańsk, Poland, and the rest of Europe—offering travelers a wider range of destinations to explore.

As part of this expansion, Wizz Air will launch five new routes from Gdańsk, giving passengers even more travel options:
